I think Meech is up to the task. I mean it sucks to lose Schneider but this is when most of the teams lose a player or two and have to test their team's depth.

How many injuries do Ducks have? I believe a few as well.

Yep, that totally sucks. At least the Wings were able to hold the Sharks to their lowest number of goals in a game during the series today. Lidstrom, Chelios and Markov are all going to play big minutes, as will Detroit's best defensive forwards - Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Cleary and Draper.

No, I think it's time to put Lilja back with Lidstrom (and hope for the best, that it wouldn't be last year repeat), and Markov and Chelios will be pared with GR call-ups (or Lebda).

Sharks have only one line playing, and Lidstrom with Lilja should be good against Thornton.

Quincey was paired with Lilja today. Whether Meech or Ericsson get ice time will likely depend on whether Lebda can play in Game 6.

yea, agreed...if lebda's not up to full speed yet, i'd seriously be tempted to insert ericsson(spelling?) into the lineup b/c lebda's almost useless if he doesn't have his speed and i think meech will be just as apt to make mistakes as the big guy. but his physical presence would nice and he would decent chemistry with half our team(good ol' sweden)

I actualy have some trust in Lilja this year in the playoffs. He's been our second most physical defenseman after father time, and instead of getting badly exposed, he's delivering momentum building hits.

Lilja has been great in the playoffs.

The reason the Wings brought Ericsson over is because his Swedish coaches insisted on playiing him at F. He wasn't a Dman at all until he got put in during his draft year as an emergency replacement. wait on him.
