On behalf of his customers, this gas station owner protested high gasoline prices by lowering the supply in the area for a day. Brilliant! www.cnn.com/2007/US/05/25/gasprice.protest.ap/index.htmlIf I owned the station down the street, I would’ve bumped up my price a couple of cents per gallon that day and sent a thank you note to this dufus.

You actually believe that gas prices are increasing due to supply issues? LOL They are constricting supply by controlling refining capacity in the US. Refining capacity is not increasing yet demand is. This contributes to higher prices.

Right, it's the oil companies' flat-out refusal to build new refineries so that they can maintain their self-induced supply shortage, thereby driving up prices and, ergo, their profits.
It has nothing to do with the stranglehold the eco-weenies put on any plans to increase refining capacity, nor does it have anything to do with the Dems flat-out refusal to open ANWAR to drilling...because some caribou might be displaced.
U.S. OUT OF THE MIDDLE EAST!! NO BLOOD FOR OIL!!
Oh, and…
NO HOMELESS CARIBOU FOR OIL EITHER!!

U.S. OUT OF THE MIDDLE EAST!! NO BLOOD FOR OIL!! Oh, and… NO HOMELESS CARIBOU FOR OIL EITHER!! Friggin’ Leftards ANWAR is a drop in the bucket when compared to yearly oil demands of the US. In terms of affecting current oil prices, supposing there was no oposition and it was thrown wide open, there would not be appreciable impact on domestic production for years and years. Aside from that, in ECON 101 a person learns that to increase profits you either increase demand or decrease supply. The oil companies are turning in record profits every quarter. New oil refineries are not being built. The greens dont have the kind of clout that could block ALL possible refining construction IN THE ENTIRE UNITED STATES. Its not an entirely unlikely scenario that the oil companies would engineer a de-facto constriction of supply at a vulnerable choke-point. I guess if you choose to believe in the goodness and honesty of the oil companies, that's your choice. It must be nice to feel that they're on your side. But, all things considered, you're not in this for an exchange of ideas, are you. This red/blue left/right thing is just about played out. You're really just in it for the argument.
