I'll admit to not knowing a lot about baskeball, but from the snippets I've heard on ESPN, a source I don't have a lot of faith in by the way, this Ogden guy reminds me a lot of Darko? I thought they said he was injured most of his last year, he showed up to camp out of shape, yet they're all saying he has this great potential because he's a big man. Is he going to be another bust like Darko was for the Pistons? Should Portland just go with Durant?

Greg "Oden" will not be Darko Milicic. They are talking like Durant will be more rounded than Oden right now, but that Oden will round into form in a few years.
Since he went to high school about 10 minutes from where I live, there is no shortage of press regarding Greg. He is absolutely dominant under the basket, plays good defense, picks his spots, and will be the connsumate team player.
I think Greg will end up as a poor man's Patrick Ewing - I don't think he has quite the offensive skills but from what I've seen he will not have a problem adjusting to the NBA. I think it will be a couple of years before he fully rounds into potential.

Greg Oden reminds me alot of Emeka Okefor, just bigger and better on defense. I'm not convinced his offensive game will ever reach a Dwight Howard, or even young Chris Webber, level.

Yeah, I see him as a Dikembe Motumbo, with maybe a little more offense. Or maybe the Chief, Robert Parrish.
And Milicic is starting to become a player in Orlando. He sat for so long, he is now just starting to develop his game. Unlikely he will be as good others drafted around him like Bosh and Anthony, but not a bad player or a bust.

Couple things.
On Darko, it was the situation he was put in. He was on a team that had no free minutes under a coach that hated rookies. People always talk about how they could've had Carmelo or Wade, but what difference would that have made? They would've sat on the bench just like he did. Darko's finally getting a chance to develop in Orlando and he's becoming a good player. Him and Dwight Howard on the same court will be scary.
Second, Greg Oden. As of right now, he's the next Dikembe Mutombo, or a taller version of Ben Wallace...a defensive player who's contributions on offense are just gravy. He's not the next dominant big man, he's not the next Shaq, he's not worthy of the top pick. Unless his hand problem affected him a lot more than was let on, and he has a whole offense that didn't show up at all in college, but I don't see that being the case.
Kevin Durant will be a superstar in the NBA. It might take a year or two for him to get there (not that it'll shock me if he's rookie of the year), but he'll get there. He's got MVPs and NBA championships in his future. He's the best prospect I've personally seen since Duncan.
