^^^ Very true - I would expect DD and the brain trust to get exactly what they're looking for here. And while he might not be a blue-chipper, you don't just give up a caliber player like Maroth for chopped liver.

Hmmmm.....Zach Miner wasn't a blue-chip prospect (Roman Colon was the guy). Nate Robertson wasn't a blue-chip prospect (Rob Henkel was). Even Mike Maroth wasn't a blue-chip guy when we got him. Tigers scouts ar pretty good so I'd be willing to bet that we'll get a guy most people haven't heard of but could end up a contributing player in the end.

Maroth had a good debut with the Cards last night. He went 7.1 innings, allowed 2 hits and 1 run, struckout 4 before giving way to a reliever. The Cards lost the game though, 2-1 but, not because of Maroth.

Maroth had a good debut with the Cards last night. He went 7.1 innings, allowed 2 hits and 1 run, struckout 4 before giving way to a reliever. The Cards lost the game though, 2-1 but, not because of Maroth. He was also 1 for 2 at the plate and had a stolen base!
